1. Overview

At CronCareers (croncareers.com), operated by the CronCareers team, your privacy is fundamental to our service. We build real-time job alert tools, RSS feed aggregators, and candidate discovery utilities.

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data to advertisers or third-party data brokers. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is processed, and your control over it.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account Credentials: Name, email address, encrypted password hash, and account type (Candidate or Verified Recruiter).
  • Profile & Career Preferences: Target job titles, preferred locations, technical skills, remote/onsite filters, bio, and voluntary social/portfolio links (such as GitHub or LinkedIn).
  • Alert Configuration & Activity: Saved search filters, tracked job openings, and webhook endpoints (e.g. user-provided Telegram, Discord, or Slack webhooks for notification delivery).
  • Direct Messages: Messages exchanged between candidates and verified recruiters on the platform.
  • Technical Diagnostics & Usage Telemetry: Device type, browser characteristics, aggregated page navigation, interactions, and application error logs / stack traces to diagnose platform crashes and improve site reliability.

3. Payments & Merchant of Record

All payments and subscriptions on CronCareers are processed by Dodo Payments, our authorized payment provider and Merchant of Record (MoR).

We do not collect, view, or store credit card numbers or sensitive banking credentials on our servers. Dodo Payments securely manages checkout encryption, payment processing, fraud prevention, invoices, and applicable sales taxes/VAT in compliance with global standards (PCI-DSS). We only receive verification tokens (such as customer IDs, subscription status, and plan identifiers) to grant access to paid features.

4. How We Use Your Data & Service Providers

  • To match relevant job openings and send automated email or webhook alerts based on your preferences.
  • To authenticate your sign-in sessions and maintain platform security.
  • To display your candidate profile in the talent directory only if you choose to make it public.
  • To manage subscription tiers and ensure smooth delivery of paid pro features via Dodo Payments.
  • To monitor platform stability, fix software bugs, and understand feature usage using PostHog (routed through our first-party domain for privacy protection).

5. Cookies, Local Storage & Analytics

We use functional cookies and client storage required for site operations, authentication, and technical performance:

  • job_alert_session: A secure, HTTP-only cookie to maintain your authenticated login session.
  • laidoff_theme: Stores your chosen interface theme (light/dark mode).
  • ph_* (PostHog): First-party storage tokens used to measure aggregated site interactions and diagnose client-side exceptions.

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data. We do not use third-party advertising networks or ad retargeting pixels.

6. Data Control, GDPR & Account Deletion

You retain complete control over your data. You may update your profile details at any time or permanently delete your account directly via Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion immediately purges your profile, job tracking history, and notification preferences from our database.
